South Beach, Miami Beach

During an afternoon visit with an old friend and long time resident of south Florida, David Feinberg and his wife Hannah, I had an opportunity to photograph several of the classic art deco buildings in South Beach. These buildings are in stark contrast to those of the predominantly monochromatic steel structures in downtown Dallas. David is an architect and loves to regale tourists with the architectural history and art deco character of the area. He also played a major role in the construction of the new Miami Opera house, which will appear in a subsequent post. Activity on the beach right in front of the classic hotels of the 20’s and 30’s, as you can see, is as vibrant as the colors of the hotels themselves.Miami-7984_HDR Miami-7975_HDR-Edit-2 Miami-7963_HDR-Edit-2-Edit-Edit Miami-7954_HDR Miami-7940_HDR-EditMiami-7950
